The challenge
Watercress Research develops innovative, watercress-derived active ingredients with potential across a range of commercial applications. They were exploring an opportunity with a personal care manufacturer to assess the suitability of Watercress Active for wet wipes and related personal care products.
Rather than a technical deep dive, the audience needed a concise, credible overview that demonstrated the ingredient’s market relevance, showed the problems it could help address, and gave confidence that it was ready for trial. The challenge was to present the science in a way that felt both commercially useful and scientifically grounded, without slipping into hype or over-claim.

Our approach
We created a two-page document designed to help a technical audience assess the opportunity quickly. Working closely with Watercress Research, we shaped the narrative and structured the content around the points most likely to matter in an early product conversation.
The aim was not to oversimplify the science, but to translate it into a form that clearly demonstrated its relevance to end-user needs, product benefits and early-stage development conversations.
A key part of the piece was a clear visual infographic that showed the underlying problems Watercress Active was designed to address and made its relevance immediately understandable. Around that, we organised the supporting science so it was easy to scan and compare, while also bringing in the practical detail needed to judge feasibility, including formulation considerations, shelf life, supply and IP context.
Outcome
The final document brought the science and the product potential together in a clear, compact format. It gave the manufacturer enough to understand the challenges Watercress Active could help solve, judge its relevance and consider possible next steps, while giving Watercress Research a more focused and effective way to support
the conversation.
